Zijin Mining is seeking an experienced and motivated Study Manager to join our team in Accra. The Study Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, management, and execution of feasibility studies and technical assessments related to mining projects. The ideal candidate will bring in-depth knowledge of the mining industry, strong project management skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive study reports that support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
– Lead and manage the development of feasibility studies, pre-feasibility studies, and other technical assessments for mining projects.
– Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to gather, analyze, and interpret data, ensuring studies are comprehensive and aligned with company objectives.
– Oversee the planning, implementation, and completion of study projects on time and within budget.
– Develop detailed project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
– Ensure studies comply with relevant regulatory, environmental, and safety standards.
– Present findings and recommendations to senior management, making solid cases for investment and strategic decisions.
– Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
– Foster collaboration between engineering, geology, finance, and other departments to enhance study accuracy and efficacy.
– Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes.
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Project Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree would be an advantage.
– Minimum of 8 years of experience in study management or project management within the mining industry.
– Proven track record of leading successful feasibility studies and technical assessments in the mining sector.
– Strong understanding of mining operations, processes, and regulatory environments.
– Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
– Proficiency in project management software tools.
– Ability to work collaboratively and influence cross-functional teams.
– Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
