Zijin Mining is seeking a dedicated and experienced Payroll Manager to join our team in Accra. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in payroll management, preferably within the mining industry. This role is instrumental in ensuring that our payroll processes are efficient, accurate, and compliant with all relevant regulations. The Payroll Manager will oversee the payroll team and collaborate closely with HR and finance departments to support our operations in the mining sector.
Key Responsibilities:
– Manage and oversee the entire payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees.
– Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies.
– Coordinate with HR and finance departments to ensure payroll transactions align with financial records and employment terms.
– Analyze payroll data and reports to identify discrepancies and recommend improvements for efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
– Handle complex payroll queries and resolve issues related to employee wages, deductions, taxes, and benefits.
– Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations, taxation laws, and relevant industry changes, particularly in the mining sector.
– Supervise and mentor payroll staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
– Prepare and submit payroll reports and analysis to senior management for strategic decision-making.
– Oversee the integration of new payroll software and systems, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption.
– Liaise with external auditors and government agencies as required.
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
– Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management, preferably within the mining or a similar heavy industry.
– In-depth knowledge of payroll systems, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
– Strong proficiency in payroll software; experience with SAP, Sage, or similar platforms is preferred.
– Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
– Ability to manage multiple priorities and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
– Experience in managing a team, with strong leadership and mentorship qualities.
– Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
