FORKLIFT OPERATOR

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

A reputable company is seeking the services of a Forklift Operator who will be responsible for operating powered industrial trucks (forklifts) to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise in a warehouse or manufacturing setting. The operator ensures safe and efficient operations by following company policies, procedures, and safety standards while managing warehouse inventory and maintaining equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Forklift Operation:

1. Safely operate forklifts to transport materials and products throughout the warehouse or facility.
2. Load and unload materials from delivery vehicles, pallets, and shelving systems efficiently and accurately.

Inventory Management

1. Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by scanning and tracking products using inventory management systems.

2. Conduct regular stock counts and assist in organizing products in designated areas for easy access

Safety Compliance

1. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
2. Regularly inspect forklift equipment and report any concerns or maintenance needs to the supervisor.

Documentation:

• Complete necessary paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments, including delivery receipts, bills of lading, and inventory logs.
• Maintain accurate records of material movements, including verifying material quantities and conditions.

Warehouse Maintenance

• Help keep the warehouse organized and clean by removing debris and ensuring aisles and emergency exits are clear.
• Assist in maintaining overall warehouse orderliness and organization.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with warehouse staff, supervisors, and logistics personnel to coordinate efficient material handling and operations.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth workflow and operations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred; additional training or coursework in logistics or warehouse management is a plus.

Previous experience as a forklift operator or in a warehouse environment is preferred.

Demonstrated ability to operate a forklift and perform warehouse tasks safely and efficiently.

Forklift certification and a valid class of license are required

Ability to lift heavy items repeatedly.
