Zijin Mining, a global leader in the mining industry, is seeking an experienced and strategic Budget and Planning Manager to join our team in Accra. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing our financial planning, budgeting, and analysis processes. This position requires a deep understanding of the mining industry’s financial dynamics, strong analytical skills, and the ability to guide business decisions through strategic financial insights.
Key Responsibilities:
– Develop, coordinate, and manage the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives and operational goals.
– Lead the preparation of financial forecasts and long-term financial plans to support business planning and decision-making.
– Analyze financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
– Collaborate with departmental heads to gather accurate financial inputs and ensure smooth budget implementation.
– Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports and analysis to senior management, highlighting key trends, opportunities, and risks.
– Conduct in-depth analysis of business operations, identifying areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
– Provide guidance and expertise in cost management, capital investments, and expenditure analysis.
– Develop and maintain financial models and tools to support financial analysis and scenario planning.
– Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices.
– Mentor and develop a team of financial analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.
– Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in budgeting, financial planning, and analysis, preferably within the mining industry.
– Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations relevant to the mining sector.
– Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting tools and software.
– Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
– Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting software.
– Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
– Proven track record of working collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
– Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
– Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
