JOB DESCRPTIONS:

A Chinese Translator to support the team in its daily operations, client communication, ensuring linguistic accuracy, clarity, and cultural appropriateness for businesses and organizations

ROLE SUMMARY AND KEY RESONSIBILTY

A Chinese Translator converts written and spoken content between Mandarin Chinese and English, ensuring safety procurement and management activities on the refinery project.

The individual will be the bridge between the Chinese Management and the local team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY.

             Provide accurate and real time (consecutive) interpretation during technical meeting, site briefing, toolbox talks, safety inductions and negotiations.

• Translate written documents, emails, contracts, engineering drawing note, technical specifications, method statement and, reports, and marketing materials reports between Chinese and English.
• Act as cultural liaisons, bridging communication between the chinse technical team and the Ghanaian staff contractors and local stakeholders.
• Support health, safety and environmental (HSE) communication to ensure instructions are clearly understood by all parties on site.
• Accurately convey ideas or attitudes that may be lost in translation due to cultural differences
• Assist with business communication and relationship management.
• Maintain strict confidentially over commercial, technical and personnel information.
• Build and maintain a project glossary of technical and mining refinery terminology in both languages
• Translate a variety of documents from Chinese to English and vice versa
• Communicate with clients and team members to clarify translation requirements and expectations.

• Cultural Liaison: Act as a communication bridge between Chinese management, local staff, and external partners.
• Documentation: Prepare and maintain operational reports, logs, and administrative records as required.

 REQIUREMENTS:

• Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English
• Proven working experience as a Chinese Translator
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• In-depth knowledge of Chinese culture and customs
• Proficient in using translation software and tools
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity while translating sensitive documents

ELIGIBILTY AND QUALIFICATION

• Bachelor’s degree from University of Ghana or a comparable accredited institution (modern languages, Chinese Language, Translation, Linguistics, Communication, or a relevant field
• Demonstrate proficiency in spoken and written languages in chinses .an HSK(Hanya Shipping Kaosh) certificate at level 4-6, or study /residence skills with the ability to work in a demanding industrial site environment.
• Strong communications, coordination and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in an industrial site environment
• Willingness to be based at the refinery site and to work flexible hours, including shift rotation arrangement .as project demand required.
• Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, familiarity with transitions tools an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, high confidentiality, cross-cultural awareness, and good interpersonal communication.
