Job Description

The HR Administrator will provide comprehensive human resources and administrative support to ensure effective workforce management, employee relations, recruitment, compliance and employee welfare within the mining/heavy industry environment. The role will support management and employees in maintaining a productive, compliant and professional workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, personnel files, attendance, leave and other HR documentation.

• Support recruitment and selection activities, including job postings, CV screening, interview coordination, reference checks and onboarding of new employees.

• Prepare HR-related documents including appointment letters, employment contracts, confirmation letters, leave letters, disciplinary correspondence and other official communications.

• Assist with employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary issues, conflict resolution and general employee concerns.

• Support management in implementing and enforcing HR policies, procedures and company rules in accordance with applicable Ghanaian labor laws.

• Assist with monthly payroll administration by providing accurate information on attendance, overtime, allowances, deductions, leave and other employee-related changes.

• Coordinate employee induction, orientation, training and development programs, particularly for employees working in the mining/site environment.

• Work closely with the HSE team to support effective communication and compliance with occupational health and safety requirements.

• Maintain confidentiality of employee, commercial and company information and ensure HR records are securely managed.

• Liaise with employees, supervisors, contractors and management to address workforce-related matters and ensure smooth HR operations.

• Prepare periodic HR reports relating to staffing, attendance, leave, recruitment, employee relations and other workforce activities.

• Support industrial and labor relations activities, including employee negotiations, meetings and resolution of workplace issues where required.

• Assist with workforce mobilization, demobilization and other site-based HR activities as required.

Eligibility and Qualifications

• A good first degree from a University in Ghana or a comparable accredited institution in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant HR experience, with proven experience in the mining, construction, manufacturing or other heavy industrial environment.

• Strong knowledge and practical understanding of Ghanaian labor laws, employee relations and HR practices.

• Demonstrated experience in HR administration, recruitment, employee records, payroll support and disciplinary procedures.

• Strong communication, negotiation, coordination and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, management, contractors and other stakeholders.

• Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and the ability to support HSE-related HR activities.

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information professionally.

• Good computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with HR information systems will be an advantage.

• Ability to work in a demanding mining/heavy industrial environment and manage multiple HR responsibilities effectively.

• Willingness to be based in Bolgatanga or surrounding areas and to work according to operational requirements, including flexible hours when necessary. • Candidates who currently reside in and around Bolgatanga, Upper East Region, will be strongly preferred.
