Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

A reputable hospital in Tema is seeking the services of an experienced Accountant to join its finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the hospital’s financial accounts and transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing day-to-day financial operations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, statutory regulations, and internal financial policies. The ideal candidate will prepare financial reports, reconcile bank and ledger accounts, monitor cash flow, process payroll, assist with budgeting and financial planning, support internal and external audits, and ensure timely filing of tax and other statutory obligations. The Accountant will also provide financial analysis and recommendations to management to support informed decision-making while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality, accuracy, and integrity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Development and review of policies and procedures for the Accounting department.
Preparation of budget; forecasting revenues and expenses and help allocate resources effectively
Analysis of company financial information to develop and implement informed investment decisions and forecast industry conditions.
Collaborate to attract new corporate clients
Collaborate with leadership to ensure that company investments and financial strategies align with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
Preparation of scheduled weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports with emphasis on identifying cost drivers.
Review bank reconciliation statements and ensure compliance with internal control procedures
Coordinate with counterparts in client companies, suppliers or third-party providers to manage Claims.
Payroll preparation and management
Billing and Claims Management.
Managing and updating fee schedules for services
Managing accounts payable and receivable.
Financial record keeping.
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards,
and organizational policies.
Prepare monthly payment schedules based on audited claims from service providers.
Supervise management of the petty cash account
Coordinate internal and external audit processes
Any other duty assigned by direct report line.

REQUIREMENTS

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, finance, or a related field.
Minimum of ICA/ACCA Part I professional certification required.
Prior experience in a similar role desirable.
Financial software proficiency.
