JOB SUMMARY

A reputable company is seeking an experienced gardener to maintain and enhance the appearance, health, and cleanliness of outdoor spaces, including gardens, lawns, parks, and landscaped areas. This role involves planting, pruning, watering, and caring for plants, as well as ensuring that all green spaces are aesthetically pleasing and properly maintained. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about plant care, physically fit, and passionate about landscaping.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plant, water, fertilize, and maintain flowers, shrubs, trees, and lawns
• Mow, trim, and edge lawns to maintain neat and attractive grounds
• Prune trees and shrubs to promote healthy growth and appearance
• Remove weeds and apply weed control solutions
• Monitor plant health and identify pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies
• Apply pesticides and fertilizers safely and in accordance with guidelines
• Maintain irrigation systems, including watering schedules and minor repairs
• Prepare soil for planting, including digging, aerating, and adding compost or fertilizers
• Clean and maintain garden tools and equipment
• Keep outdoor areas clean by removing debris, leaves, and litter
• Assist in landscaping projects, such as designing garden layouts or installing new plants
• Report any issues related to plant health, equipment, or safety.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance is an advantage
• Knowledge of plant care, soil types, and seasonal gardening practices
• Familiarity with gardening tools and equipment.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Strong knowledge of plant care and maintenance.

Ability to operate gardening tools such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and pruning shears.

Attention to detail and creativity in maintaining attractive landscapes.

Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Time management and the ability to work independently.

Basic problem-solving skills for plant health issues.

Candidates must live around Shiashie, Pig farm, Abelemkpe, and East Legon.
