JOB SUMMARY

A reputable company is seeking the services of a tiler who will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining tiles on various surfaces, ensuring that all work meets quality standards and client specifications. This role requires a blend of creativity, technical skills, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation:
   • Measure and cut tiles to fit specific areas using appropriate tools (e.g., tile cutters, saws).
   • Prepare surfaces for tiling by cleaning and leveling them to ensure proper adhesion of tiles.
   • Lay out tiles in specified patterns, ensuring proper alignment and spacing.
   • Apply mortar or adhesive to secure tiles in place and ensure they are correctly set.
2. Repair and Maintenance:
   • Remove damaged or broken tiles and replace them as needed, ensuring a seamless appearance.
   • Perform maintenance tasks on existing tile installations, including cleaning and regrouting.
3. Quality Control:
   • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets design specifications and quality standards.
   • Address any issues or imperfections in the tile installation promptly.
4. Collaboration:
   • Work closely with contractors, builders, and clients to ensure understanding of design requirements and timelines.
   • Communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding project status and any potential challenges.
5. Safety and Compliance:
   • Adhere to all workplace safety regulations and standards.
   • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary and ensure a safe working environment.
6. Documentation:
   • Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on projects.
   • Provide clients with estimates, invoices, and warranties as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant vocational training or apprenticeship in tile installation is preferred.
• Proven experience as a tiler, with a portfolio of completed projects.
• Strong knowledge of the different types of tiles and installation techniques.

Skills:

• Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina, with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
• Attention to detail and precision in installing tiles.
• Good mathematical skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
• Problem-solving skills to address challenges that may arise during projects.
• Basic understanding of design principles and aesthetics related to tiling.
